The Future of Games in Perth (Panel)
Surviving in the creative industries is at the very best of times a high-risk proposition. With the vagaries of
government funding, often limited understanding of the influence and reach of the games industry from funders, and the significant challenges placed on the sector by the evaporation of marketplaces due to COVID, eking out a living is tough from the outset.
This panel looks at the strategies and the thinking that local game developers are putting in place to look toward building robust and unique businesses in the games area. Along the way, we’ll also take a good long look at how the development community is working as a community in advocating for their sector and what business and strategic barriers may (or may not) be in place.
