Mihye Won is a science education researcher and Associate Professor at Curtin University.
She investigates the educational possibilities of immersive virtual reality to enhance students’ collaborative learning experience. Her recent educational VR program enables students to not only see but experience abstract science concepts in play, such as walking down the passageway of an enzyme to drag and drop chemicals for the catalytic reaction to occur, or piecing together layers of water molecules to create snowflakes, while seeing and talking with peers in the virtual environment. She has also explored educational VR programs for physics and earth science education.
Mihye received her PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, and she is the leader of two Australian Research Council grant projects (ARC DP).
